Job Description
Title: Customer Service Technician

Reports To: VP Customer Service

Primary Purpose of Position:

  • Installation and programming of equipment at customers' sites, both domestic and international
  • Troubleshooting and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Customer training on our proprietary, hardware and software
  • Responding promptly to Customers' calls for assistance, including through PC Remote Connection, phone calls and emails
  • Customer Service Visits to resolve problems and/or to provide routine tuning and preventative maintenance
  • Special projects when not travelling which could include 1-2 Hour, Focused Training via Web Conferences and aiding our customers through Remote Connection Audits
  • Site evaluations
  • Periodic weekly "on-call" duty, rotating through our Customer Service Team
  • Technical Support for Sales, when needed
  • Ability to travel 60-80% based on customer need
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Must possess or obtain a passport

Education, Skills and Experience:
  • Mechanical and electrical engineering background
  • Excellent diagnostic skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent ability to interface with the customer, in-person, by phone and email
  • Excellent team player and ability to share problems and solutions
  • Independent, self-starter, requires very little detailed direction
  • Fluent with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to quickly learn both our technology and new tools to document our technology
  • Positive attitude and desire to succeed

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Two-year technical degree or equivalent experience
  • Microsoft Windows experience, including networking
  • Experience in the Can-Making Industry
  • Experience with Machine Vision systems

Physical Requirements:
  • Lifting, reaching above the shoulder, use of fingers and both hands
  • Walk, stand, crawl, kneel, and repeated bending
  • Ability to climb with use of legs and arms
  • Ability for rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously
  • Depth perception, ability to distinguish colors and shades of color.
